Artist Statement

To me, art is a dialogue with the unknown. Art exposes me to my fears and addresses concerns such as meaning of life and death, love and cruelty, sacrifice and redemption- in the constant hope to define that which cannot be known. My art thrives on metaphysical ideas, which i believe are as old as human consciousness and contrast with futuristic visions. A great work of art is not just a taught skill or talent, but also reflects the intellect and compelling imagination of its creator. It recognizes the beautiful imagination and confronts us with a vision of ultimate reality. This vision can liberate us from everyday situations, thoughts, and feelings by lifting us onto a higher plane of being. While doing so, art has the capacity to bemuse, delight and elevate us. My art is the antidote for a chaotic life.
